Regional Models of Import Substitution in Agriculture

The article is devoted to the study of regional models of import substitution and provides the analysis of the factors influencing the dynamics of investment activity in the Federal districts of the country and regions. Special attention is paid to the measures of state support reflected in the program documents aimed at the development of territories, increasing their socio-economic attractiveness, competitiveness and economic independence.

The aim is to analyze the economic indicators of agriculture, reflecting the impact of import substitution on the development of regions. Objectives of the study are to substantiate the necessity of import substitution in agriculture for the country's economy and development of the Federal subjects and Federal districts; to identify the main factors influencing the choice of the model of import substitution; to outline the problems of effective implementation of the models of import substitution and to offer ways of their decision. The analysis of statistics, modeling of socio-economic processes, system and situational approaches were used as research methods. As a result of the study, the positive impact of import substitution on the economy of the country's regions was revealed, promising directions for improving the efficiency of existing import substitution models were identified.
