The Future of Civil Service: the Foreign Approach to Generations Research

The article is devoted to a research of the foreign approaches to generations in the civil service. Special attention is paid to the disclosure of a concept «generation» in terms of different scientific positions, primarily focusing on sociocultural approach, where the core characteristic is human values. Also the attempt to adopt the foreign classification of generations for Russian domestic historic conditions of their functioning was realised, relying on their unique set of values ​​and sociocultural characteristics. The most vivid practices in the field of forming unique value proposition for employees of different generations in civil service in Australia, Singapore and Japan were presented.
