The subject of the article is highly relevant due to the existing need to develop and build a Russian model of the knowledge economy. Education is one of the most important institutions of the knowledge economy. The paradigm of technological development puts informatization and technocratization of society at the forefront. However, without introducing the social component to education this approach can lead to a crisis. Accordingly, the problem of forming a new view of social sciences and humanities in education and its role in the knowledge economy becomes all the more urgent.
