Economic Mechanisms of Implementation of Russian Geopolitical Strategy

The article analyses the quality of Russia’s economic policy and its compliance with the national security needs and geopolitical strategy. To this end, the author addresses the main indicators of economic development, which not only reflect the situation of a current period, but also make it possible to forecast the capacities of the state in the following periods. Today the socio-economic situation in Russia demonstrates a number of serious threats to its national security, undermines its geopolitical position and makes long-term integration initiatives impossible. The author concludes that the implementation of national goals and objectives, which include the quality of life improvement, requires a revision of the current economic policy towards the strategic planning of the economy.
