The article examines the possibilities and perspectives of innovation development in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The object of this study is the technology transfer within the EAEU, and the extent of its impact on sustainable development of the economies of the member states. The main goal of the governments of the member states leadership is the transition to innovative, high-tech, competitive industry. Today, the post-Soviet attempt to catch up with the major powers in terms of technology, but the economical gap between them is still significant. In modern conditions, the rapid economic growth of the EAEU member states requires the development of domestic industry on the basis of the most advanced, modern, unique technologies — thus creating the maximum added value, thereby giving the industry as a whole a competitive advantage. However, the high-tech industry today faces a number of important issues requiring immediate solutions.
