Innovations in Urban Development of Moscow Region

The article examines innovative methods of urban development problems solution. Using the results of a comparative analysis of several globally significant urban agglomerations, the author provides a description of Moscow urban agglomeration as a core of a territory development system. The article analyzes the nature of urban development problems and provides a classification of those problems based on the ways they manifest. The article also considers institutional environment of innovative urban development. On the basis of social, economic, demographic and technological conditions of Moscow region the author makes a prognosis on the perspectives of urban development innovations with the potential to solve or completely prevent key urban development problems.
