Application of foreign tests for personnel assessment requires compliance with a series of preliminary procedures: obtaining permission of the copyright owner, translation and adaptation of the questionnaire, verifying the reliability and validity of the resulting test, the development of standards using a representative sample. In the current Russian practice of psychodiagnosis many of the necessary stages of standardization of foreign methods are skipped, which leads to inevitable errors. The authors examine the issues of translation and incorrect use of foreign methods by means of certain tests used to assess professional and personal qualities and organizational commitment of staff in modern Russian companies.

Keywords

Psychological personnel assessment, psychological testing, translation of foreign tests, adaptation of foreign tests.
