Russian Political Science Tradition: Rhetorics of Imperial Portrait in the Second Half of the XVIII Century

The mental-cognitive approach to the formation of image in modern politics is an urgent problem of political linguistics. The purpose of the article is to demonstrate, on the example of Imperial portrait of the second half of the XVIII century some aspects of the political discourse: extra-linguistic, socio-cultural, ideological, performance and communication, semiotics.
