Counteraction to Terrorism by Communication Means: The European Experience

Antiterrorist organizations use a variety of means and methods of communication to restrict the influence of terrorists in information and communication field. The author examines the main issues and perspectives of counteraction to terrorism by means of communication, in particular communication management, taking in consideration the basic academic approaches to this problem, accepted in the countries of the European Union. The article focuses on modern concepts of crisis communications in cases of terrorist attacks and the preventive strategies directed on restriction of possibilities of terrorist organizations to influence public opinion and hire new recruits.
