A new model of football management: football as a national brand

This article is aimed at solving the problem of improving Russian soccer’s international image. The main factors that influenced the deterioration in the perception of Russian soccer were bad performance at the FIFA World Cup, excessive and unnecessary grants from the state federal budget, fans’ displeasure with unacceptable behavior of Russian soccer players and the lack of state strategy of the national soccer team. The article proposes a new innovative and cost-effective model of soccer, in which national team will be able to win international championships and the international image of Russian soccer will improve.
