The author considers the social policy in Perm Krai an integral part of the national social policy. The continuing harmonic development of Perm Krai depends largely on the social policy in the region. It is an urgent problem because Perm Krai is the first region that has been consolidated during the regions’ consolidation reform. Investigation of social policy in one of the consolidated regions and its influence on the development of the region can help to come to the right decision on expediency of such consolidations. The social policy in the region does not stand out but is pursued in the frame of region’s socio-economic development. Developing the region’s social policy as a separate unit of socio-economic development of Perm Krai can help in forming the right set of tools for concerted actions toward the development of Perm Krai.

Keywords

Social policy, Perm Krai, consolidation of the regions, socio-economic development.
