The article examines the main lines of development of state regulation of agro-industrial complex. A more active government intervention is required to solve the accumulated problems and create favorable conditions for the stabilization of production and its further growth, improve the competitive ability of domestic agricultural products in domestic and international markets, improve domestic food supply, and search for and implement various mechanisms of facilitating the implementation of social and food policy.
