Strategic Potential of an Organization in Resource-based Strategic View

Vera V. Vasilyeva

Graduate student, Management Theory and Technology Department, School of Public Administration, Lomonosov Moscow State University.

A company’s strategic potential is an inherent component of a resource-based view. Such an approach allows every organization to find its unique resources and key competencies which constitute the basis of the company’s long-term development. As soon as a company creates its strategic potential it can gain a competitive advantage and become a leader on the market if this advantage is used correctly. Unfortunately, creating the strategic potential is not a simple task, neither for a business company nor for a non-commercial organization, since both have to analyze the whole approach from the point of view of strategic management. An organization which can accomplish this especially in a turbulent current economy will be able to achieve its goals.

Keywords

Resource-based view, strategic potential, key competencies, unique resources.
